Hello Everybody!
Welcome to the New Year!
I love new years just for the main reason being that you get a fresh start. Or, at least what feels like a fresh start. Like the age old saying goes, "the past is in the past". And honestly, that's how I've been trying to see the past year throughout 2015. I've made some not so great decisions here and there as I'm sure many of you have as well, and whether they're small oopsies or big uh oh's, it's in the past.
Some of my closest relationships have changed completely and not always for the better. But, I'll get through it all one way or another and this year has given me peace of mind knowing that it's all in the past and I've got a new start.
As I reflect on the good things that have happened to me in 2015, like meeting so many new friends at school and at my new job, seeing more of my family, and actually enjoying my art at school, towards the end it was a pretty good year.
This year, I will begin my last year in college (finally). You know what, it's going to be 6 years that I've been in college and for one, I'm not too happy about that and it makes me feel like I'm not doing it right and that I'm so behind everyone else that I graduated with, and two, everyone is different and I know that now-a-days it's kind of hard to graduate in 4 years so I don't feel too bad.
Ryan and I will mark 4 (wow) years together, and so far, so good.
Ryan turns 34 today, (honestly, I hope I still look ten years younger when I'm 34 like he does) and in May I will turn 23. Apparently nobody likes you when you're 23 (so says blink182). And according to Scott Pilgrim, this is the year I will find my soul mate (we'll see about that).
I plan on reading a lot more, and obviously blogging a lot more. I will use my planner to its potential and try to use my sketchbook everyday.
As most other people say, this is the year I will get off my lazy ass and get in shape. Ryan and I have already made plans to do just that. Drinking more water, and eating healthier are also a part of this (obviously).
There are many other things that I plan on doing this year, like doing more work on our house and traveling more, and those are things that need definite planning.
As I write this, I am listening to 'Riptide' by Vance Joy and I highly recommend everyone give this song a listen at least once in their life as this song immediately makes me happy. It makes me think of so many different things and people and its just a rush of nostalgia. And even though it'll definitely make the perfect summer song, it helps my winter blues go away momentarily.
Here's whats coming up in January:
This coming weekend I will have Christmas with my brother, sister-in-law, and niece at their house (which we have not seen yet, exciting!) and I can't wait to see them.
I will be doing a re-cap of my holidays.
I may (or may not) start vlogging. It seems like it would be super fun, but could get very time consuming. I think it would help me better myself as I don't always want to look like a hag but, obviously I'm a real person and don't look perfect at all times, but gosh darn it I try.
I hope all of you are aiming to better yourselves in the new year!
Take it just one day at a time.
xoxo
