Hello Everybody!
It is now the beginning of July, which means I have favorites from June to share!
I've decided to put a few items in here that are each from a relatively different category, such as makeup choices, entertainment, candles and food items. I like to see other peoples' monthly favorites and the ones I enjoy the most are the more randomized ones with other items than just clothing or makeup.
So, here's what I've been loving throughout the month of June!
Makeup:
Excuse my unkempt cuticles. I also tend to chew on the edges of my nails when I'm nervous or I'm thinking, a horrid habit really.
I've had the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin for a while but I went away from using it for a bit and now that it is summer, I've wanted to bring some of that coral color back to my cheeks for a naturally sun kissed glow. I love cream blushes and I think they stay on longer than pressed powder. Plus, the pigmentation is lovely. I love this formula and will continue to use it throughout summer!
Next is the Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Summertime. I don't usually like to use bronzers because they tend to have more of a 'terra cotta' color to them and make my face look more fake bronzed than anything. When I got this in one of my latest ipsy bags I fell in love with the color as it is more of a taupe/brown than a reddish brown.
Last is the Endless Silky Eye Pen also by Pixi. This is the second one I own, the first I bought was the plum one and I absolutely love how silky it felt applying it. So, naturally I bought another! I bought this one in Black Cocoa as I love brown eyeliners and it definitely did not disappoint!
Candles:
Bath&BodyWorks was having their Semi-Annual Sale the other week and I love stopping in to snag a few things that are no longer in stock, like these candles!
I saw the Provence Garden candle and knew I loved it the first time I had boughten it and immediately picked it up again. I went with Maggie (as she absolutely loves Bath&BodyWorks) and saw the Wasabi Apple candle and said, "who would want their house to smell like wasabi and apple?" She picked smelled it and looked at me and gave me a look of "just try it, it's not bad" and I immediately grabbed it and said, "I do, I want my house to smell like Wasabi Apple". Man oh man this is an amazing scent if I do say so myself. B&BW describes it as -'Temped to try something new? Sweet, crisp apples get a real kick from the sizzling hot Japanese Wasabi root'. This is definitely more of an Autumnal scent but as soon as I got home I lit it and was not disappointed at all. I need to find more!
Food Items:
I saw the commercial for the Icebreakers Cool Blasts a day or so before I saw them in the store and was definitely curious to try some myself. Five packs later I can easily say that I absolutely love them! If you're the kind of person that thinks it is kind of disgusting to be chewing on a piece of gum for an hour or so (I am not one of those) then these are for you. They disappear almost instantly (especially if you chew them) and they definitely leave your mouth with an almost literal cool blast. I must warn you, if you take a drink of anything cold once you have one of these dissolve in your mouth you're going to regret it, it's almost painful. Now, that's cold!
I have also been meaning to drink more tea this summer because I have been on a soda binge for a very long time (probably since the beginning of February) and I definitely needed to cease almost all carbonated sugar drinks. While at the grocery store for coffee creamer I came across this cute little creamer. I thought I'd try it as I love almond milk. I made myself a pot of chai when I got home, added a bit of this and fell in love! It definitely blew my expectations out of the metaphorical water. And at 15 calories per serving, it's a definite recommend!
Entertainment:
I've also been trying to watch less TV during the daytime as I have noticed that I get super sidetracked if it is on and I have something that I need to be doing. Ryan and I were watching The Hangover: Part 2 the other night and there is a scene where Leslie Chow and the 'three best friends' are in an elevator and Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle started to play and Chow starts singing and not too long Allen joins in. From then on it was successfully stuck in my head. I began singing it one night when we were outside but couldn't remember the rest of the words. So, I looked it up and annoyed Ryan with it for the evening. The next day I went to Pandora and played the Jim Croce station. I love classic Rock, especially from the 60's and 70's so this station was perfect for me. If you love The Beatles, John Denver, or obviously Jim Croce then you'll love this station!
Dad&Mom on Lake Michigan circa 1980's ft. fish and wicked awesome socks.
Last but most definitely not least, my Dad! Since Father's day and his birthday were last month, June was about Dad! Can never say how much I love this guy and how grateful I am to have him as a father. I love you, Dad!
I hope you all had a fantastic June! And if not, make July a whole lot better!
To all of my fellow American readers, Happy 4th of July!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer months. Get out and enjoy them while you can, fall will be here before you know it!
xoxo
